I will forever be grateful. Thanks to Tinder I have found the love of my life and we are to be married. After going on a few dates and having a few fun nights I came across Miranda. We are both Christians who fell madly in love. I honestly had been on many Tinder dates and was absolutely sure I was meeting a fling to get a free meal and have some fun…3 years and sooo many dates and memories later, I am married to my Tinder guy, Kenny! Five minutes into our first conversation, my now-wife mentioned how we would have an amazing wedding.
After about a week of talking, we decided to meet up at a local bar for drinks We were at a crossroads and so after a few months of casually dating, we decided to end things.
I was in love, but thought this love story wasn't meant to last. Fast forward 9 months, and we had become inseparable. From there we never stopped talking, dating each other and falling deeper in love. For all the single people out there, especially introverted ones like us: do not be afraid to travel outside of your comfort zone. Tinder brought us together and for that, I am forever grateful.
I was also adamant the next man I'd be with and commit to, would be the man I'd spend the rest of my life with just not married. I was very fussy and didn't expect to meet a man on Tinder. I decided to sign up anyways and just match away and see what happened. The knock-on effect was that Tinder couldn't recognize tell the difference between the real Luna and the fakers.
She adds: 'Yes, because there's so many fake profiles out there, whenever I start a legit account I get reported and Tinder has me taken down! Silver lining: Luna says her current beau is a man she met on Tinder before her account was closed. Aggression: She says she's faced threats on Tinder from people angry that she's 'too good-looking'. Luna says lots of sex workers have also used her profile photos online to promote their services. I just need to keep reminding myself I can't do anything about it, and it's out of my control.
In an especially sinister development recently, Benna has learned that many of the fake Tinder profiles out there are using her images to attract people into sex work. She explains: 'Some of those profiles using my pictures — so it looks like me, but with fake names, like Jessica, Amber or Natalie — refer to themselves as escorts or prostitutes.
The outcome would typically be a block. And it would motivate the catfishers to look even more 'real' and 'authentic' now that they knew I was aware. Tinder takes down her legit account, she claims, meaning she has no chance of dating as a normal Tinder user might.
The pretty brunette says it's dispiriting that her image is stolen by others to try and trick people. She says she's now part of a 'power couple' with her new boyfriend, using their mutual love of photography to build an online following. One silver lining for Benna is that she did — against the odds — eventually find a quality Tinder match. She says: 'I met my new guy, my current significant other, on Tinder, just before the ban.
He picked me up and we went back to his place for dinner. So we started seeing each other more and more and noticed we had similar goals and motives. We're pretty much a power couple.
